Land Acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge that BGC Dawson is held on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtià:ke /Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples. At BGC Dawson, we are committed to deepening our knowledge of the history of Indigenous people on Turtle Island and to strengthening our work for Truth and Reconciliation. We are aware that our approach to Truth and Reconciliation must be anti-oppressive and trauma-informed. We will continue to amplify Indigenous Peoples’ voices and actively work alongside Indigenous organizers, Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
